Welcome to the Pack 224 (Lake Elmo) website! (Last Update:August 30, 2010)

Hello Scouts and Scouting parents. We are beginning a new School year and a new Scouting year. Please come and visit us at the Lake Elmo School, Eat, Meet, and Greet event on Sept 2. We will be be recruiting new scouts for the upcoming year.

Our kick-off picnic is scheduled for Wed, Sept 22 at Tartan Park Pavilion #1. It will be from 6:00-7:30. Come and enjoy a picnic dinner and welcome new scouting recruits.

For those new to Cub Scouts and interested in joining - here is an overview of Pack 224. The Pack meets once a month as a whole group, including family members. Dens are made up of boys in the same grade and meet about 2 times a month. The cost is $30, which includes a subscription to Boys Life Magazine, the cub scout handbook, a slider and a neckerchief. The boys are expected to have a uniform shirt that would be purchased separately. Scholarships are available for those with hardships.

The pack is also looking for additional volunteers. We would like to have a parent to be Assistant Cubmaster, Pinewood Derby Coordinator, advancement coordinator, are a few of the opportunities to help Pack 224. Please let the Cubmaster or Den leader know if you are interested in helping the Pack.

Contact your Den leaders or Cubmaster if you have any ideas or suggestions for activities for 2010.

Please plan to attend the Pack Spring Picnic with your family on Monday May 17, 2010 at Tartan Park Pavilion #2. This will be a picnic for the scouts and fun at the play equipment at Tartan Park.

Bowling April 10, 2010 Stillwater Bowl 2:30 - 4:00

Pack Bowling Event Saturday April 10, 2010 2:30 - 4:00. Bowling will begin at 2:30 and end at exactly 4:00. If you want to arrive a bit early to secure shoes and a ball then bowling can start right at 2:30. The whole family is invited to join the fun. The Pack will cover the cost of the Scout and siblings parents, etc will cost $8 - including shoes.

Pinewood Derby Time

It is time for the annual Pinewood Derby race. See the attachment for official rules.

There will be a table for doing last minute repairs. Weigh-in will begin around 6:30 or as soon as we can get everything set up. Once cars are submitted for and weighed they will be impounded until race time.

Blue And Gold Banquet

Our next event is the Blue and Gold banquet and is a big accomplishment for the second year Webelos. They will be crossing over and becoming Boy Scouts. This is scheduled for Thursday February 25, 2010 at 6:30 in the Lake Elmo Elementary cafeteria.
